When you agree to marry Drew Haymaker, he promises to treat you right forever. He definitely came through on that promise immediately following the wedding when he whisked me away on a fabulous Honeymoon to France! We were gone for 10 day with 8 full days in France. We spent 5 days on the southern coast of France in Nice and 3 days exploring the historic streets of Paris. From the french fries to the gorgeous Mediterranean Sea, this was the ideal Honeymoon for the Haymakers!!
Ready to go at the OKC Airport!
On the airplane! Drew is ready for his first internatinoal flight... I even managed to upgrade us to the first row seats with tons of legroom... unfortunately we were not as lucky on our return flight.
We've arrived! Our Hotel in Nice (pronounced "neice") was fully remodeled with a king-size bed and very large bathroom! It also had a fabulous roof top pool with breathtaking views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea!
Our tour book told us about a beautiful balcony bar at a Hotel in Nice where we could relax, enjoy champagne and the views of Nice. Naturally, it was the first place we went!
The infamous pebbled beaches of Nice... We did manage to find a sandy beach in Nice, too!
We found this great restaurant on our first night in Nice. They had the BEST french fries and an endless wine list!!
Before...
After...
Yummy! We shamelessly ate french fries and enjoyed a bottle of wine several times while we were in Nice!
For our first breakfast in France, we ordered enough food to feed a family of 6! We enjoyed our food on the street side patio while I touched up on my French.
We truly loved "Gaglio." Here is our pre-dinner snack... french fries & Ratatouille.
We adventured out of Nice to visit Monaco and Cannes. The train had beautiful views of the ocean & it was surprisingly easy to use! In Monaco, we wondered through the streets and visited their beautiful aquarium and the Palace.
At the train station and views on our way to Monaco...
Monaco!
Lunch in Monaco...
In Cannes we hit the beach and ate dinner at an amazing Italian restaurant near the beach!
On our last day in Nice, we went to the market and made ourselves lunch that we enjoyed on the beach. It was a perfect day!!
For our last dinner in Nice, we wandered into a part of the city we hadn't been yet...
What the...?!?!
This dinner was fantastic!!
Au Revoir, Nice.... Bonjour, Paris!!
Here are our attempts to take of picture of ourselves with the Eiffel Tower in the background!!
Here are some of our favorite photos of Paris...
We visited the Musee Rodin which features Auguste Rodin's famous sculptures in the home where he lived. The home and the garden were my favorite... but Rodin's sculptures were fabulous as well!
"The Thinker"
"The Gates of Hell"
My favorite- "La Valse" (The Waltz) by Camille Claudel, Rodin's pupil & mistress
Of course we visited the Louvre, Notre Dame & the Eiffel Tower...
We LOVED the Arc de Triomphe and it's breath-taking views!
Shopping on the Champs-Elysees followed by some McDonald's french fries!
And we ate... and we ate... and we ate!!!
We spent our last night in Paris in Montmartre watching the sun set over Paris and eating our last meal on the patio (where we ate almost every meal!!)
